Apa Kabar Singapore

‘Apa kabar Singapore’ meaning ‘Hello ‘Singapore’ in the historic primary language of Malay.

The sticky afternoon heat of the close tropical humidity clings to your skin. The air is so thick it’s almost difficult to breathe. Big flat topped tropical trees, palm trees & pink flowers are everywhere. The whole area is so green and beautiful, for a city. A golden sun hangs big and beautiful in the sky casting a warm glow across the colour saturated landscape whilst commercial ships bob around in the crestless ocean.

As the cityscape emerges from the haze, three towers dominate the skyline topped with a ship. This is the marina bay sands hotel and restaurant. Deep blue waters surround the area in a gorgeous city front lagoon. Luckily for me, I had this amazing view of the city from my hotel balcony!

Climbing ivy weaves its way up concrete overpasses and bridges covering the concrete in a tropical green coating.

This is Singapore. And I couldn’t have felt happier to be landing on foreign soil ready for new adventure!

On arriving in the city, we ventured into our hotel & up to my beautiful room. The views were absolutely incredible. My balcony had scenes across the marina with views of the cityscape and the iconic Marina Bay Sands. As the sun set, the lights of the city twinkled in the water and the cityscape came to life.
After a quick change, it was off to find some form of food. After wandering into the Marina I found an amazing frozen yoghurt place! Wandering back to the hotel with my new found delight  from Llao Llao in Marina Square, I got ready for going out in Singapore. First stop, The Beacon. A local haunt for westerner staying in the

Before too long we found ourselves at the dizzying heights of the top of the Marina Bay Sands hotel, drinking in the electric atmosphere from the bustling city down below.

I would fully recommend to anyone who is visiting Singapore to head up to the outside rooftop bar at the top of Marina Bay Sands and then follow it up with a dance in Cé la vie nightclub which can also be found at the top of Marina Bay Sands. It really is an incredible experience and a must do whilst on the island.

Sending lots of love home from Singapore!
